Wake Tech East Campus Library Services: Library Services & Policies

Library Policies

  • The library is open to all students, faculty and staff of Wake Tech holding a valid Wake Tech ID. 
  • Students, faculty, and staff must scan the barcode on the back of their Wake Tech student ID at the information desk each time they enter the library.
  • Cellphone conversations must be taken outside the library.
  • No group work or conversation in the Reading Room. No speakerphone usage. Headphones required for all video and music. 
  • Wake County residents may use the library with a valid ID showing a current Wake County address. Residents must obtain a community borrower's card in order to use the library. Community borrowers must scan the barcode on the back of their Community Borrower card at the information desk each time they enter the library.
  • Library Computers are intended for research purposes; students using social media or playing video games will be asked to relinquish the computer/laptop if there are students waiting to do research.
  • Books can be checkout for 3 weeks. Audiobooks and DVDs check out for 1 week.
  • Food is NOT allowed in the library spaces. Drinks without secure lids are not allowed in the library. A secure lid is defined as a lid that, when the container is turned upside down, no liquid comes out.

Things to Know about Wake Tech East Library

Wake Tech East Campus (5401 Rolesville Road - Wendell, NC 27591) has a one floor library located in Building C (EC 270).  

  • Computers - available on a first-come, first-served basis - Log in using your key account username and password (same as Blackboard and WebAdvisor). Computers are intended for academic work and research purposes only; students using Facebook or other social media may be asked to relinquish the computer if there are students waiting to do research. Please log off when finished. 
  • Online Resources - We have loads of resources available online through our library guides, NC LIVE, and Wake Tech databases. You can also access the library catalog and request materials from other libraries if we don't have what you need. If you are off campus, you will need to access our databases through the WTCC Library website (http://library.waketech.edu) and enter your key account username and password (same login as Blackboard and WebAdvisor).

Study Spaces 

Wake Tech East library is committed to providing study spaces that reflect the diverse learning styles of our students. In order to provide an environment that is conducive to studying, the library is divided into study zones.

Quiet Study Zone

These study zones are meant for silent, independent study. Please keep discussion short and at whisper level, silence all devices, and ensure headphone volume is inaudible to neighbors.

Group Study Zone

These study zones are meant for quiet, collaborative study. Please be considerate of neighbors by keeping conversations quiet, silence all devices, and ensure headphone volume is inaudible to neighbors.

  • Library Study Rooms 

In addition to open study spaces, you may reserve a study room.
