professional association's goal is to advance the profession through the organizations' members. A professional association, also sometimes called a professional organization, also creates public awareness of the profession.

NC Codes

The following codes provide safeguards for North Carolinians with regard to building safety and fire prevention. Codes protect health, safety, and welfare as they relate to the residential and commercial built environment. The following are links to North Carolina Codes relevant to HVACR. 

International Codes

The International Mechanical Code (IMC) is a set of standards focused on the safety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. It is published by the International Code Council (ICC). It is updated on a three-year cycle. The IMC protects public health and safety for all building heating, cooling, and ventilation related design, installation, and inspection by providing minimum safeguards for people at homes, schools, and workplaces.
