If you need help with any kind of research, the librarian can meet with you, either by appointment or by walk-in as available. They can help you find books and online journal articles and can help you create a successful search strategy.
Faculty can request library instruction sessions in their classrooms. Session topics range from search strategy, database recommendations, and effective search techniques.
Group Study Room
Need a place for group study? The library has an attached classroom, shared with the ILC. If this room is not otherwise in use, groups may ask to use it so that they may work together. (The library itself encourages quiet study so as to be respectful to other users.)
Printing, Copiers, Faxes and Scanners
There is a printer/copier located in the library is available to all students. It will also scan and send images to your email address. At this time there is no fax machine in the library or on campus. There is currently no charge for printing or photocopying, but we do ask that you use resources wisely.
Computers & Laptops
We have 12 computers for research use, assignments, etc. Laptops are available to be checked out from the library. During the week, they can be checked out for 3 hours in the library. After 12 pm Friday, they may be checked out for the weekend and must be returned by 12 pm Monday. Please see the desk for more information.
Instructors often place materials on hold in case students cannot afford to purchase textbooks or forget to bring them to school. These items are located behind the desk and are for in-library use only. All reserve materials must be checked out using a valid student ID.
Can’t find a book in our library? Check out Interlibrary Loan. The library can borrow books from any of the other Wake Tech Libraries or from CCLINC, the Community College Library Consortium.
In the library catalog, click Place Hold on any item, enter your seven digit student ID and your PIN (1234). We will email and/or call you when your book arrives.
The library holds approximately 3000 titles including reference and circulating books. There are also DVD's and audiobooks covering topics from criminal justice to popular fiction. To check out materials, come to the library and set up and account!
If you use the search window, the computer will search all five Wake Tech libraries. If you wish to search only one library, then select that library beneath the search box.
