Library Services

General Collection:
The general collection contains books that are available for a 3-week checkout.

Course Reserves:
These are books, videos, and other class materials that are located behind the circulation desk for in-library use only. Items are placed on reserve by faculty members.

Study Zones:

You may like to listen to music while you study, but your classmates may prefer total quiet. To accommodate different study habits, the library has been zoned into three study zones. The Silent Zone, where no sound is allowed, the Quiet Zone, where you can listen to music with headphones, and the Group Zone, where quiet discussion may be held. Please choose the appropriate zone for your studying style and respect those around you.

Printing and Copying:
Students are limited to 25 pages of printing and/ or copying per day. Color printing is only available via the Copier/ Scanner using a USB flash drive. Fax services are not available at any library location.

Laptops:
The library offers laptops that are available for three week check outs. You must be a currently registered student and you must have a device agreement on file for the current semester. Laptops are available for as long as supplies last. Laptops are administered by Wake Tech ITS and students cannot install their own software.

Interlibrary Loans:

Can’t find a book in our library? You may be able to request that book from another community college library via interlibrary loan. Students, faculty, and staff can inquire about interlibrary loans at any of the Wake Tech campus libraries.

Cooperating Raleigh Colleges:
Wake Technical Community College Libraries are now part of the Cooperating Raleigh Colleges agreement. This agreement allows Wake Tech students, faculty, and staff to check out materials from Meredith College, William Peace College, NC State University, Saint Augustine, and Shaw University libraries. Students, faculty, and staff can inquire about CRC borrowing at any of the Wake Tech campus libraries.
