Best Places to Go for Your Sociology Assignment
E-Journal Portal (opens in new window)
Sociology journals may be located in three or four different databases. The easiest way to find them is to use E-Journal Portal. Here are the directions and also some suggestions of academic sociology journals.
- Click the link above.
- Type in the title of the journal you are looking for.
- You will get a list of results as to what databases have that journal. Choose one and then click on the database name. Note: Some of the journals won't be current and some may not have the most current editions as the publisher doesn't always release them to the databases when they are published.
- You will see a list of editions that are available, but there will also be a search box. Type in a topic search in that window.
- Review the search for an article that looks good, read the abstract and then print if necessary.
In order to use the research databases, you will need to access them through the links on the library site or through this guide, not by typing the web addresses (e.g., www.nclive.org) directly into your browser; then you will be directed to a login page where you'll need to enter your key account login and password (same login used for accessing Blackboard, WebAdvisor, and my.waketech e-mail accounts).
