URISA provides education and training, a vibrant and connected community, advocacy for geospatial challenges and issues, and essential resources for GIS professionals throughout their careers.

OSGeo holds a passionate belief in open source as the best way to build software. Open source starts off with a license that provides royalty free (re)use of software. Next, open source guarantees access to the source code for audit and modification and the ability to redistribute the software with no additional costs.

NSPS provides the platform by which members can share their thoughts and opinions about our common interests through business meetings /committees, regional groups, and student chapters. It also provides a forum for input from other groups such as the National Association of County Surveyors, members of state boards of registration, and the Forum for State Surveying Society Executives. Membership is open to all professional surveyors and to persons trained, registered, or interested in the profession of surveying and mapping.

non-government organisation whose purpose is to support
international collaboration for the progress of surveying in all
fields and applications.

The North Carolina Society of Surveyors was founded January 31, 1939 and is the only professional organization in NC representing surveyors throughout the state. We are the second oldest Land Surveying Organization in the United States. We actively deal with issues affecting the surveyor on local, state and national levels. NCSS is a state society of the National Society of Professional Surveyors. The NCSS headquarters are located in Wake Forest, NC.

ACSM/NSPS represents the surveying and mapping profession at the national level. The collective clout of our membership helps pave the way for legislation which in turn helps support the profession of surveying and mapping. Through annual conventions and workshops, we provide opportunities for continuing education and professional growth.

URISA provides training, networking, and education to those in the GIS field.
