Wake Tech libraries house circulating, reference, and reserve materials, including but not limited to books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs, laptops, and other course-related materials. Library materials are available for checkout at the circulation desk. Some course- related materials are also available on reserve for use within the libraries.

All Wake Tech library users may check out materials by establishing a library account at the circulation desk using their Wake Tech IDs. All library materials are checked out as follows:

1. Library Use Only: Reference Materials, Reserve, Teaching Resource Center, and Audio/Visual Closed collection
2. One Week Checkouts: Special Reserves, Audio/Visual Browsing Collection (DVDs, some VHS tapes and CDs)
3. Three Week Checkouts: General Collection Books and AV Browsing Collection - Audiobooks
4. Laptop Checkouts:  Laptop checkouts are primarily for Wake Tech students taking curriculum classes and are available for on-campus, 3-hour checkout Mondays - Thursdays. Laptops are available for weekend checkouts on Fridays. Holiday checkout dates and times are posted on the libraries' website and in the libraries. Non Wake Tech users cannot check out laptops.
5. Wake County residents: Community borrowers (guest users) are required to present a valid photo ID to create library accounts to check out library materials and only 3 items at a time.

Wake Tech library patrons can borrow materials from more than fifty North Carolina community college libraries. The turnaround time for receipt of interlibrary loan materials is 3-5 business days. Library patrons are notified via their Wake Tech email addresses as soon as the materials are received in the library. Users can search for materials and also use the "I Need Material" function from the library online catalog to place hold on materials from within Wake Tech libraries and other community college libraries.
