Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources (opens in new window) The Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources (CCCOER) promotes the awareness and adoption of open educational policies, practices, and resources.
Creative Commons (opens in new window) Creative Commons is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a globally-accessible public commons of knowledge and culture. Their miss is to provide Creative Commons licenses and public domain tools that give every person and organization in the world a free, simple, and standardized way to grant copyright permissions for creative and academic works; ensure proper attribution; and allow others to copy, distribute, and make use of those works.
OER Commons (opens in new window) OER Commons offers a comprehensive infrastructure for curriculum experts and instructors at all levels to identify high-quality OER and collaborate around their adaptation, evaluation, and use to address the needs of teachers and learners.
OER Digest (opens in new window) The OER Digest is a bi-weekly newsletter for open education updates, opportunities, and reminders
OER Research Hub (opens in new window) OER Hub has three key objectives: to build capacity in the OER research domain; to conduct research into OER related issues; and to produce resources for the OER research community.
Open Education Consortium (opens in new window) The Open Education Consortium (OEC) is a non-profit, global, members-based network of open education institutions and organizations. OEC represents its members and provides advocacy and leadership around advancement of open education globally. OEC works with its members to build capacity to find, reuse, create and share Open Educational Resources (OER), develop open policy, create sustainable open education models, and enable international collaboration and innovation. OEC annually coordinates and hosts Open Education Week, the Open Education Global conference, and Open Education Awards for Excellence.
Open Education North Carolina (opens in new window) Open Education North Carolina (OENC) is an NC LIVE initiative that aims to reduce the cost of higher education for North Carolina students by providing free, open textbooks for the most frequently taught courses across NC’s 2- and 4-year colleges and universities.
OpenStax (opens in new window) OpenStax publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed, openly licensed college textbooks that are absolutely free online and low cost in print.
Open Textbook Network (opens in new window) The Open Textbook Network (OTN) helps higher education institutions and systems advance the use of open textbooks and practices on their campuses. The OTN maintains the Open Textbook Library.
SPARC (opens in new window) SPARC works to enable the open sharing of research outputs and educational materials in order to democratize access to knowledge, accelerate discovery, and increase the return on our investment in research and education.
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation (opens in new window) The Hewlett Foundation began investing in open educational resources in 2002. Their grantmaking supports mainstream adoption and effective use of openly licensed educational resources that provide students around the world greater access to a world class education.
ED Office of Educational Technology (opens in new window) The U.S. Department of Educations's Office of Educational Technology has a #GoOpen initiative to support States transitioning to open resources.
UNESCO: Open Educational Resources (opens in new window) The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization supports the use of open educational resources.
